Brave Villager Saves Children from Burning House in Shimla

The eight-room, two-story house in Shalan village, Halau Panchayat, Tehsil Nerwa, Shimla district, has burned to the ground. A villager who risked his life to reach the scene safely removed the two children, ages five and nine, who were inside the house at the time of the incident.

While other family members were working in an apple orchard in a different village, the incident happened because one of the women had gone to the forest to gather wood. The villagers arrived at the location and began putting out the flames as soon as they received the information. The Revenue Department is working hard to evaluate the fire's damage. As of right now, the fire's estimated damage is close to Rs 1 crore.

Locals Took Quick Action to Save Neighboring Homes

The affected individuals initially reported the fire to Devendra Kumar, the head of the local panchayat. Pradhan notified the fire department upon arriving at the location. The fire department team arrived at the location as soon as they received the information, but they were unable to save the house. Nevertheless, the neighboring homes escaped unharmed thanks to the efforts of the locals and the fire department.

Devendra Kumar, the head of the local panchayat, pleaded with the authorities to help the affected individuals as much as they could. SDM Narendra Singh reports that the victim's family has been promptly provided with a relief payment of Rs 10,000. All reasonable efforts will be made to make up for the loss per the rules.
