Punjab
is a huge state of India which is famous and popular all over the world for its
appeal. Word Punjab made with two word Panj and Aab. "Panj" means
five and "Aab" means rivers. Where five rivers flow, the same is
called Punjab. Punjabi culture is one of the oldest and prosperous cultures.
This culture has spread worldwide through the Punjabi people. The scope,
history and complexity of Punjabi culture are vast. Several castes of many
people and religions together have brought Punjab's cultural heritage to this
level. The expression of Punjabi's talent is found in its stories, lusty dance
and humour which is not found in any culture of the world. Punjab is extremely
rich in dance and is considered for its dance forms. The most popular Punjabi
dances are Bhangra, Gidda, Jhumar, Luddi, Dankra Julie, Sammi, Dhamaal, Jago,
Kikli and Gatka. Nowadays, many non-Punjabis have also joined the folk dances
of Punjab in which people not only from India but also from abroad can be seen
participating in various Bhangra competitions. The Punjab Museum depicts a
group of Indian miniatures from the Mughals, Rajasthani, Pahari and Sikh
schools by many Indian artists. Museums also have a good collection of medals
and weapons, as these are majestic objects on archaeology, anthropology, tribal
and folk arts depicting various concepts and scopes within the patterns of art
and culture. Arts and Crafts of Punjab- Punjab art is specifically described as
the creation or expression of something beautiful in visual form and a lot in
arts and crafts. Many of the phrases have decorative designs and handicrafts.
